SEEKING ALL ROLES:

KING ARTHUR (LATE 30s-50s, baritone): The King of England who sets out on a quest to form the Knights of the Round Table and find the Holy Grail. Great humor, good singing.

SIR ROBIN (20s-40s, baritone): A Knight of the Round Table. Ironically called “Sir Robin the Brave,” though he couln’t be more cowardly. Joins the Knights of the Round Table for the singing and dancing. Also plays other characters throughout the show, including Brother Maynard (a long winded monk), and a French Taunter. SINGS: You Won’t Succeed on Broadway.

SIR LANCELOT (20s-40s, baritone): A Knight of the Round Table. He is fearless to a bloody fault, but through a twist of fate, does discover his “softer side”. This actor MUST be great with character voices and accents, as he also plays the lead French Taunter (arrogant, over-the-top Frenchman), the Knight of Ni (absurd, cartoonish leader of a peculiar group of knights), and Tim the Enchanter (a ghostly being with a Scottish accent).

PATSY (20s-50s, baritone): King Arthur’s horse and servant. Underappreciated but always longing for King Arthur’s approval. Good, funny, physical mover with some tap dancing. Also plays Mayor of Finland (jolly red-faced man who advertises the merits of Finland through song), and various other characters. SINGS: Always Look on the Bright Side of Life

SIR GALAHAD (20s-30s, baritenor): A Knights of the Round Table, begins as Dennis, a lower class mid-gatherer who becomes knighted and transforms into the dashing Sir Galahad. Also plays Prince Herberts Father (wealthy, brutish Yorkshireman at odds with his sensitive son), The Black Knight (always ready to duel despite multiple injuries). Strong baritenor signing required. SINGS: The Song That Goes Like This.

SIR BEDEVERE (20s-40s): A Knight of the Round Table. An inept scholar. Also plays Dennis Galahad’s Mother (shrill peasant woman), and other various parts throughout the show. No solo singing, but some dancing required.

THE LADY OF THE LAKE (20s-30s, soprano belt/mix with alto notes): A diva. Strong, beautiful, possesses mystical powers. The leading lady of the shows. Great singing voice is essential, s she must be able to sing effortlessly in many styles and vocal registers. Especially seeking actresses of all races for this role. (SINGS: Find Your Grail, The Song That Goes Like This, and Diva’s Lament (Whatever Happened to My Part).

HISTORIAN/MINSTREL/PRINCE HERBERT/NOT DEAD FRED (20s-30s, strong tenor, very good mover): Plays the Historian (tweedy academic that introduces the show), Minstrel (singing of Brave Sir Robin), Prince Herbert (hopeful and frilly prince who loves to sing and pines for his love atop a tower), Not Dead Fred (sickly little fellow who, despite others’ beliefs, claims he is “not dead yet”). As well as other roles throughout the show. SINGS: I am Not Dead Yet, and Where Are You?.

ENSEMBLE: The ensemble of 2 men and 4 women will make up many small roles throughout the whole show including: French Taunters, Sir Not-Appearing-in-this-Show, Laker Girls, The Voice of God, Robin’s Minstrels, Sir Bors, Herbert’s Guards, and others.
